COACHING - Declan Jennings GPO
The performance of a team both in results and the spirit in which they play our games is dependent on their coach. The role and impact of the coaches and mentors cannot be underestimated and our club is determined to provide the necessary support that they need.
The coach has a central role in the development of the GAA player. Coaches assist players in developing to their potential - whatever that maybe. The challenge for the coach is to create the right conditions for learning to happen and to empower the player to develop him/herself to reach their potential.
Fortunately there is a lot of information available online and we have identified a number of sites which provide a range of guidance from basic drills and the simplified games for our younger members all the way up to adult teams.
The key resource page starting point is the GAA's own website as shown immediately below, however we have also identified other resources that are available online.

Learning GAA
This site has been developed as the learning and development portal by the GAA to provide better access to key resources for GAA members and those actively promoting Gaelic Games. Register as a site member and access Education Programmes to support your role as Coach, Referee, Administrator or Player
Of particular assistance is the planner included on the site which details a large number of drills for all ages of players.

Ladies Gaelic Football Association
The LGFA also has a number of articles, drills and skill cards which are excellent reference points.
