We put a question to all our members via Twitter, WhatsApp groups and ClubZap last Friday 25th February; Who wants to march for their club, waving the Blue and White in celebration of the vibrant Westmanstown GAA community? There was three options: Blanchardstown, Lucan or Both.
We had a fantastic response so a big thank you to all. All the boys and girls must be very excited for a 'La Féile Padraig'!
Of course, all children taking part need to be accompanied by a parent and don't worry if you don't have club gear: anything and everything Blue and White will do. So if it's dressing up as William Wallace, Papa Smurf or Mister Bump we'll be delighted to have you representing Westmanstown on the day.
So which parade won? 29 people volunteered to march in the Blanchardstown parade and a whopping 75 people volunteered for the Lucan parade. We'd be delighted if all the Dublin 15 folks would please march with the crowd in the Lucan parade.
What happens next? over the next two weeks we would like to hear from anyone with any suggestions of how we can show-off our club? We want music, colour (blue and white, obvs.) and any props that let people know that, at Westmanstown, we love Football, Hurling, Camogie and Fun!
All participants need to meet at 2pm with the parade kicking off at 3pm. More details to follow.
