U13 boys played out a rip roaring game v trinity gaels in Beechpark on Saturday. The visitors got off to a flying start and led at the first water break 1-4 to no score. However the scoreline did not tell the story of the match as wayward shooting and a missed penalty looked like it was going to cost us. The second period started much better for the home team who scored a goal and a point to get us back in the game leaving the score at half time WMT 1-1 Trinity Gaels 1-5. The second half was a whole different affair as the home team took the game by the scruff of the neck and move of David Nolan into the full back line and Sean O Brien to wing back made a huge difference not allowing a single ball past. Along with Morgan and the two Adams the defence stood really firm. Charlie and Aidan took over at midfield and once Senan and Eoin switched full forward and center forward the scores began to flow. It was a real 21 man performance with 5 of the lads having already played an u12 hurling match came on from the bench to help turn the match around and secure the win for the home team. The lads showed great determination and spirit and on a day when the heads could have dropped they certainly didn't and Trinty Gaels who had won every game to date put in a great performance and kept going to the end. It was heart stopping stuff with the home team coming away with a well deserved win
Westmanstown Gaels 4-3
