U13 boys travelled to Thomastown Park for a close and enthralling Saturday afternoon of hurling against Cuala.
Cuala started strongly and took the lead in the first quarter but the Westmanstown lads were not to be outdone and responded to the challenge with grit, determination which saw superb defending by the goalkeeper and backs. Add to that some beautifully executed long range points and the teams were evenly drawn at half time.
The second half proved to be just as enthralling with every ball and score being hard fought- Westmanstown proved to be the stronger and managed to put their lead beyond question in the final quarter, thanks to a handful of goals by our trigger happy full forward!
A real team effort by all 18 lads.
WMT: 5-8
Cuala: 3-3
