U11 Girls travelled out to Ballyogan for a sunny Saturday afternoon of Camogie against Stars of Erin.
The Westmanstown girls performed admirably. Displaying determination and perseverance from the start. The opposition were never given an opportunity to get a clear strike from the hand with Westmanstown using their hooking and blocking skills to great effect.
The game had it’s fair share of drama and excitement with a defensive battle being waged between the Stars backs and the Westmanstown forward line.
The lifting skills were superb and the shorter grip puc passing and catching were clinical. The ability to strike from the hand from distance showed that Westmanstown were a threat from any range and as time went on, they collectively found their stride.
The ‘small ball’ is in safe hands with the warrior women of Westmanstown.
Gaels abú!
