This week the Girls made the trip away to Trinity Gaels for their first League match of the year. 17 Girls lined out to play a tough opposition and they did extremely well in what was warm and sunny conditions. There were fantastic skills on display in tackling, hand passing and getting the ball upfield. The Gaels worked as a team, supported each other and didn't give the opposition much space or time to rest. The defending and goalkeeping skills were on display too with some great saves and blocks and some up close marking taking place. Scores were had in all matches with some great kicking skills on display.
Knocks were taken by the girls and given out, but they all stuck to the task and gave their all to each other and the team.
The team was well supported by supporters who offered great support and encouragement to the girls throughout (Thank you!)
Overall it was 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss for Westmanstown.
Well done to the girls.
