Westmanstown Gaels U13 Girls started their football championship challenge with a fantastic win over Castleknock, scoring 3:11 to 1:7.

Both teams were well matched but our girls dug deep, battled for every ball and showed great spirit, and their win was well deserved.

Some super defending from our goal keeper and defence who commanded the area in front of them, and linked up well with midfield, who never stopped running, chasing and carrying the ball. Fine finishing from the forward line (and midfielders) ensured the scores, particularly in the 2nd half, reflecting the overall team effort.
