A crisp, sunny day with a biting breeze set the stage as our U15 girls took to the field for their first-ever Camogie Féile.

Spirits were high and the girls were ready to represent Westmanstown with pride.

A big shoutout to our U14s who stepped up to help complete the panel—true team spirit in action.

Game one saw a slow start against Skerries, but the girls found their rhythm before the halftime break and stormed into the second half, securing a well-earned win.

Next came a repeat showdown from a few weeks ago against St Peregrines/Tyrellstown. An intense, physical battle with no ball left uncontested. Two hard-fought goals gave us the edge, and we held on for a thrilling one-point victory.

Our final group game against a sharp St Oliver Plunketts side was a tough test. Despite a determined effort, we were beaten by a better team that just had the edge on the day. That result sent us across the city to St Anne’s Park for a semi-final clash with a Whitehall side who won all their 3 games.

We came out firing—dominating possession and piling on the pressure—but only came away with a point for our efforts.
Whitehall struck just before the break to level, and in a tight second half, a long-range dipping goal proved the difference.

The girls gave everything—every tackle, every puck-out, ebery 50/50 ball. They left everything  out there and played with heart, grit, and joy. We couldn’t be prouder of their performance, attitude, and togetherness from the entire team.

Massive thanks to all the parents who helped organise, fundraise, and fuel the team throughout the day. Days like this are what it’s all about.

Roll on Football Féile at the end of April! 💪 💪 💪
