Our “Annual Golf Classic” returns on the 14th of June after a gap of five years. This event was one of our major fundraising events of the year until it was disrupted by the pandemic. Can you, your business or company, support this event (and by extension our club), and sponsor a golf team, a tee box or green?
This event has been an extremely valuable vehicle to raise funds towards the everyday running of the club over the years where, as with all aspects of life, costs are ever increasing. As you will have noticed we recently had to sand our pitches which cost in excess of €11,000. This work was overdue and will ensure that the playing surfaces are at the required levels for all of our teams. All funds raised from this event will be used to offset these costs.
The Golf Classic involves teams of three players, played at our sister club Westmanstown Golf club, on Friday the 14th of June 24’. We have reserved afternoon tee times to accommodate players. The cost of a team is €300 per team to include the golf and a post golf meal in the downstairs bar in Westmanstown Sports Centre that evening.
Tee box & green sponsorship, offers an opportunity to individuals, businesses & companies to be associated with our golf classic, and support this fundraising event. It costs a very reasonable €100 for these items. The club undertakes to create the tee box and green signage. We just require the relevant artwork or signage details to be emailed to sponsorshipwmtgaelsgaa@gmail.com
We have created a Golf Classic flyer that includes all details of the golf classic and related sponsorships, which can be used to introduce the event to business and companies alike. We are very thankful to club members Vinny lynch “Party Delights”, and Ross Murray “The Murray Pub Group” who are jointly sponsoring the event. Their support is invaluable and significantly improves the potential success of the event, and alleviates some the running costs associated with it.
We are asking all club members to support this event, help us make it a success, and raise much needed funds for the club.
