Club notes July   27/07/2019

Thanks to all who played and supported our Annual Golf Classic last Thursday at sunny Westmanstown. Special thanks to Ken Murray of Finance Solutions in Lucan for his generous sponsorship of the event - we are indebted to Ken for his continued support not just financially but for his involvement with our underage teams as well.
Thanks also to Paul Croft of Fresh Super Foods in Laurel Lodge for providing all our participants with healthy goodie bags to keep up their energy levels while negotiating Westmanstown. Congratulations to the overall winners Copper Face Jacks followed by Capital Glass in 2nd and Sean Murrays team coming in 3rd. Our next scheduled fundraiser will be a Race Night on Friday October 4th at Westmanstown-details will be circulated shortly.

Disappointing evening for our Intermediates on Saturday evening when their Div 4 League tie with St Finians Swords failed to go ahead due to the absence of a referee. This is most unfair to both teams who had to make personal and work arrangements for this fixture and find their efforts are in vain - County Board please take note - no details yet of refixture. Juniors lost in their Div 8 game away to Binn Eadair on Sunday morning. Next fixtures scheduled are Intermediates away to St Marks on Wednesday July 17th and Juniors at home to Parnells on Tuesday July 16th.

Ladies have home Cup fixture this Wednesday July 10th starting at 7.30.PM in Westmanstown.

Well done to Luke Curran who came on for Dublin minors in their Leinster Minor Final against Kildare last Saturday. Luke acquitted himself very well scoring two points but unfortunately ended up on the losing side this time but we look forward to progress in the qualifiers when Dublin take on Mayo on the weekend of 27 - 28 July - all at Garda Westmanstown Gaels are very proud of Luke.
